overview
YUAN comes from the two Chinese characters 元/原, which has the meaning basic elements and origin. The two characters echoes the theme of this project - using the fundamental geometric shapes of this world to represent letterings in different languages.
Mapping
The mapping uses the outline and negative space of each letters to represent them in a discreet yet interpretable way.
Axiom Elements
Instead of focusing on creating more variations for each letter, constructing a lower level elemental system that can be freely substituted into each parts of the letters would make the system more versatile.
